Counseling Department Mission
At Decatur High School, the counselor's mission is to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of young adolescents. All students will have equitable access to the counseling program that is comprehensive and developmentally appropriate. DHS counselors seek to remove barriers to learning and provide opportunities and supports which will empower students to embrace their full potential and to achieve their academic, career, and personal goals.
School Counselors deliver prevention and intervention services that support the academic, career, personal, interpersonal, and healthy development of all students.
