About this Class:
All science courses at Decatur High School aspire to develop scientifically informed, caring, and responsible individuals who can think critically and make informed choices about themselves, the environment, and society.
Biology is the study of life. We will explore the organization of life, how energy is used and transformed, how life is continued, and evolves and adapts over time. This class supports the science department mission to help students become scientifically literate citizens who are able to gather, analyze, and interpret information in everyday situations.
Students will investigate the nature of life at all levels. Great emphasis is placed on the use of evidence to draw conclusions.Students will attain competence in the Georgia Performance Standards for Biology
