Work-Based Learning is a single-credit career course focused on students developing soft skills and gaining work experience, either paid or unpaid, that coordinates with the student's post-secondary goals.

Prerequisite for Work-Based Learning Program

To be considered for the Decatur High School Work-Based Learning program, students must:

Have completed the online application	Have an identified career interest they wish to explore
Be a junior or senior, at least 16 years of age	Have reliable transportation
Be on track to graduate	Have no severe or consistent disciplinary issues
Enrollment in the program is limited, and completing an enrollment application does not mean automatic acceptance. IB Career Programme students have priority placement, followed by students who have Employability Skills Placements (Jobs).
