Future Readiness Skills
Future Readiness Skills (FRS) FRS encompass a wide range of knowledge, attitudes, and skills integral to student success. The skills are based on the core competencies as defined by The Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL). CASEL defines the skills as how children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
The five core areas include self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. CSD is committed to integrating the teaching of these skills into all K-12 classrooms as a Tier 1 offering with lessons delivered by teachers with the approved district program.
